all the above

I had an interesting conversation with a guy tonight....man I have not had any theologic conversations with anyone in a long time---or mostly with anyone that would disagree with me, hence the other person not being a christian. I am so overwehlmed with thoughts in my head right now...I do not understand why people are so distant from wanting to embrace who God is. Look around at the things He has created and the beauty of emotion. Why would you not want to embrace God, or atleast delve into different religions to find out who created everything? How can someone be content with just the basic truth that there is humans and this earth, and that is all I will put faith in because everything else can not be proven. I was talking to this guy and he argued that every religion can prove itself in some way but when it comes down to it all of them will fail to be absolute truth, everything takes faith to believe in. So, why do I believe in Christ? I believe because I want to have a relationship with God. I guess he understood what I meant when I said that, but this is what I could not debate. He said that he is satisfied with just having to lean on his own understnanding and what he feels is right, he does not need to believe in a religion to live life in peace, to have something to stand on. How do I disprove that? How do I get someone to desire to have a relatioship with God. I realized tonight that there is NO WAY I can bring someone to Christ. No amount of action, no amount of words, no amount of any human's strength will lead someone to Christ. It is only through God's willingness to change a heart and get them to desire a relationship with Him that someone will come to know the Lord. The greatest gift that I can give to my friends is to pray for them.

(Proverbs 3:5)

even without Absolute Truth, i don,t know why people ignore all the wisdom that can be had in scriptures.
